So we are in the midst of the dog days of summer.  Sure has been hot out which makes for a wonderful boating season!

As of last Sunday the lake water was a balmy 80.6 degrees!

Like to make a few shout out to a few members.
Big thank you to Pete Seeuwen and his dad for taking it upon themselves to fix the davit motor!

Also would like to thank Lisa Dobitsch, Vicki Cope and Donna Scarpaci for filling our social calendar.
And a special thanks to all our members who have stepped up to cook.
Thank you also to Chris and Deb Thomas for saving all our tires by purchasing a huge hand held magnet!

On the 27th Paul and Maryse are going to spoil us with their world famous Italian Hot dogs.
On the 28th of July is our first Saturday night dinner.

Commodore’s Corner June 2018

Hello friends,

I hope everyone is having a great spring and staying dry!

We have had a few Friday night get together’s in the Lenape lounge so far.  It was great seeing everyone who has attended.

The social committee is working hard on some fun things for us all.

This Friday night at the club, Cathy and Dave Kellstom are preparing chicken Quesadilla’s, certainly looking forward to that!

We are looking for some people to step up for Fridays in June, July and August, also people to host Saturday night dinners.  Also please don’t forget, if you host a dinner your Fall workday will be waived!  Team up with another couple if you like, or have it catered.  It’s a lot of fun, and helps the club.  Please try and help out and do your share.  It isn’t fair for the same people always volunteering.

The Kennedy’s and Scarpaci’s are once again doing our country Hoedown, serving our delicious pulled pork and all the fixins!  Learn a line dance or two, wear your best country outfits!

Also Chris and Lisa Dobitsch are doing a rotisserie dinner featuring 3 different ind of meat entree’s, this is something not to be missed, stay tuned for more info on that.  Also don’t forget about the BOD end of the year BBQ, last years event was very well attended and everyone had a fantastic time.

I’m sure our Ambassador of fun Mr. Kevin Kennedy will supply his giant Jenga and not to mention the ever popular hula hoop competition.  Again we will have prizes!  Stay tuned for that as well, as Im sure there will be even more surprises!

So far the weather hasn’t been perfect but im sure that will change.  Its great seeing all the boat’s in their slips and lightnings on the beach.

Don’t forget to come out and watch our fleet sail Saturday mornings, root on your favorite teams!

Special thanks to Dave our dock master on helping to get our docks in shape and all the members who worked so hard and donating their entire Saturday.

John Cope for all the “behind the scenes” things you also do .  John just installed a new photo sensor on our beach light, is in the process of hanging the flat screen TV in the lakeside room, and many other things that go unnoticed.

Marcel, one of our expert sailors, has donated his canoe for any member who would like to use it. The key is in the clubhouse, please contact me if you would like to use the canoe.  Please remember to ALWAYS wear your life vest.

In closing I look forward to seeing you around the club and on the lake!  Lets make it the best season yet!

Sincerely,

Joe Scarpaci

April 30th, 2018

Hello again friends! It sure seems like this has been the winter that just . wont end. As I write this I am looking out the window and watching the snow come down! I took a look at the calendar, and yes it is April 30th !

As this winter slowly winds down, soon the birds will be chirping, the flowers blooming, and of course, our boats hitting the beach and nestled in their slips!

I am so looking forward to seeing everyone gathering around the club on Friday and Saturday nights, everyone catching up with our LWYC family that we haven’t seen through these past months.

This coming weekend May 5th we have our mandatory dock work day, if you have a slip please try and be at the club by 9am.  We want to have all repairs completed and get our docks floating!

Our social committee is already hard at work, hoping to have another successful year with lots of fun things to do. If you see Lisa, Donna or Vicki, and would like to host a dinner or do a Friday night bar night, please let them know.

There will be more paint and sip nights, perhaps a trip to Bethel Woods to see a concert, under the stars movie nights, and I’m sure one or two themed nights, like a pajama party, line dancing, also I understand there is a new and exciting Winery coming to our area, I’m sure we would all love to check out! So, keep an eye out!

Please come out and support our Fleet 16 on Saturday mornings. I’m still amazed by the talent of our sailors! I’m sure they would love to see you down on the beach…. maybe even learn a little bit about sailing from our resident experts. The Schedule is on our website.

Chrissy is in the midst of stocking the bar with your favorite adult beverages, John Cope is installing our new TV in the dinning hall.

I can’t begin to tell you how proud and lucky I am to have such a wonderful Board of Directors, who put in countless hours of their own time to help keep the club we all love in “ship shape”
Once again, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for entrusting me as your Commodore.
As always see you around the club and on the water.
